"Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" is the original name of the 2001 French romantic comedy film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Written by Jeunet with Guillaume Laurant, the film is a whimsical depiction of contemporary Parisian life, set in Montmartre.
THE PROJECT
During the university visual research course I designed and created an illustrated book that tells the story and point of view of Amélie Poulain. The reader is involved in the life and curious events of the Parisian main character, who transports us to a world made of always different colors and emotions.

Each page of the book describes the situation and the mood of the protagonist through watercolor drawings which blend with colored backgrounds that reflect Amélie's emotions.
